Three-way SLI not possible on 8800GT
DURING A QUARTERLY conference call last Thursday, Nvidia's co-founder and CEO made a statement that Geforce 8800GT will indeed support three-way SLI, originally thought to be an exclusive for owners of dual-SLI bridge boards. The story went out to several enthusiast web-sites, and couple of Internet forums started buzzing about creating an ultimate water-cooling rig with three G92 chips running in parallel. Given the fact that Three-way SLI requires a special connector, we wondered if the driver guys made something through PCIe Gen2 bus or what. We have contacted Nvidia PR Headmaster, Mr. Derek Perez and got the answer that Jen-Hsun just got a bit carried away....
